Gavin Daniell

Chair
As the former owner of Victor Harbor's McDonald's (between 2001 to 2023), and the Aldinga Beach restaurant since 2010, Gavin has created countless jobs for the local community and served on various boards.

His community involvement extends to sports clubs and charities, leaving a lasting legacy. Now at the helm of Business Victor Harbor, Gavin's dedication, leadership, and entrepreneurial spirit will continue to benefit our organisation, Members, the wider Victor Harbor community and beyond.

Kirsten Pitman

Co-Deputy Chair
Kirsten Pitman is a highly accomplished businesswoman known for her significant impact on her local community and the hospitality industry.

As Deputy Chairperson of Business Victor Harbor since 2020, she brings valuable insights to drive the organization's success. Alongside her husband Simon, Kirsten owns two acclaimed restaurants, Nino's and Loco's, catering to over 18,000 customers annually and enriching Fleurieu's culinary scene.

Steve Little

Co-Deputy Chair
A seasoned entrepreneur and business leader, Steve Little has significantly impacted the business world, starting from his nine-year service in the Australian Military to his current role as a board member at BVH.

Known for his leadership and commitment to community development, Steve has successfully owned and managed multiple businesses, including TREND Fitness, which has gained national acclaim. His expertise extends to health, safety, and community services, as seen in his role as HSEC Manager at Linfox Transport.

Steve's dedication to fostering wellbeing and nurturing future business leaders is also highlighted through his work as a professional business and leadership coach. His passion for excellence and vision for positive change are consistently evident across his multifaceted career, making him a respected figure in various industries.

Tim Donlan

Secretary
Tim Donlan, principal of Donlan Lawyers, excels in estate and business succession planning, transitioning from the Royal Australian Air Force to co-owning a security and software development company. His community involvement, recognized expertise by The Tax Institute of Australia and Doyle's Guide, and inclusion in The Best Lawyers in Australia (2023) for Trusts & Estates in Adelaide, underline his exceptional achievements.

Mark McLaren

Treasurer
Mark, a life-long resident of the Fleurieu, brings 28+ years of accounting and management experience spanning various sectors. He's contributed extensively to local community groups, offering auditing services for over 27 years to the Great Southern Netball Association.

Currently running a management consultancy business, Mark supports Fleurieu Peninsula businesses in primary production, services, and sports sectors.

Travis Bates

Board Member
Meet Travis Bates, a versatile professional at NbNCo and a valuable member of the Business Victor Harbor board. With diverse experience, including owning a successful manufacturing business and working at organizations like Rio Tinto and Yancoal, he brings a holistic perspective to business challenges. His qualifications in Sustainable Energy Management and Business Administration equip him with analytical skills to create actionable strategies, emphasizing collaboration for growth and prosperity.

Sang Dinh

Board Member
Sang Dinh brings over 15 years of private banking expertise, acquired at institutions like Commonwealth Bank and Westpac Private Bank. His astute financial knowledge informs board decisions. Beyond the boardroom, Sang skillfully manages two thriving Terry White Chemmart Pharmacies, fostering local healthcare services and economic growth, showcasing his unwavering dedication to excellence in both professional and personal spheres.

Richard Foggo

Board Member
Meet Richard Foggo, a finance expert with 45+ years of experience rooted in Victor Harbor. Leveraging a vast lender network, he secures tailored solutions for personal, business, and farm lending. Beyond finance, he's a dedicated community leader in esteemed board positions, fostering positive change. As a regional manager overseeing 50 bank branches, his strategic insights shape local finance. Richard is also an authorized agent for term deposits, investments, and insurance, ensuring holistic financial guidance and peace of mind.

Stuart Riddell

With a two-decade hospitality career, spanning global venues, Stuart's blend of hospitality and mathematical expertise sets him apart. His unwavering commitment to quality in guest experiences and team environments has earned industry recognition. As a valued board member, Stuart embodies Business Victor Harbor's values and expertise, contributing to our success.

Michael Schubert

Board Member
Meet Michael Schubert, an accomplished business leader known for his impressive career, innovative approach, and strong community engagement.

With over 20 years in retail marketing and ownership of ShedEx Fleurieu, his commitment to growth and community impact shines through in his passionate involvement with Business Victor Harbor, where he served as Chair from 2020-2024, guiding the association to new heights while actively supporting local initiatives and charities.

Babara Vermeulen

Board Member
Babara Vermeulen, born in South Africa with Dutch heritage, has a diverse background and currently serves as a board member at BVH. After a year in the UK where she met her husband, she moved to New Zealand, becoming a citizen and earning a Bachelor of Health Science and Optometry Honors degree.

Babara's career began at OPSM, where she developed a passion for entrepreneurship. This led her to Specsavers, where she completed their business development course, Pathway, and soon managed her own store in Victor Harbor. Under her leadership, the store achieved significant growth and recognition for clinical practice in South Australia.

A mother of two, Babara has been recognized for her business acumen, including a nomination for the AusMumPreneur award and winning the award for Clinical Performance and growth.

Her involvement in optometry advisory groups and multiple awards for Best Clinical Practice in Australia highlight her commitment and success in her field.

Colin Shearing

Executive Officer
Colin Shearing, a fifth-generation South Australian family business owner and part-time Executive Officer at Business Victor Harbor, brings over 30 years of executive management, industry leadership, and advocacy experience.

His qualifications include an MBA and diplomas in Retail Leadership and Training & Education Design & Development.

With extensive connections spanning retail, hospitality, and motor trades, Colin's regional network knowledge supports local businesses effectively.

Ryan Smith

Member Services Officer
A native of Adelaide and a local of Fleurieu, Ryan brings a wealth of experience in retail, brand management, business management, marketing, and product development to BVH. This, combined with his deep connection to Victor Harbor, promises dynamic leadership and a fresh perspective for the future of our organisation - and region!

In 2019, Ryan diversified his career, earning a Diploma in Event Management and Cert II in Live Production. These achievements exemplify his commitment to lifelong learning and attest to his ability to transfer skills between industries.

As a fellow entrepreneur running two businesses - brand marketing agency TENEIGHTYONE. and retail store Buffalo James - Ryan understands the highs and lows of running a business. His empathetic approach, coupled with his recent experiences and insights, will be invaluable to our members.
