Julie Irwin - outgoing Member Services Manager
Julie Irwin, a remarkable woman known for her dedication and service to the Fleurieu community, is set to retire from Business Victor Harbor (BVH) this December, ending her role as Member Services Executive.
Julie has made an indelible mark at BVH over the past two years, embodying the spirit of giving back through her ceaseless work ethic and commitment to the local business community. Beyond her role at BVH, she runs two successful businesses, Hamper Warehouse and Encounter Business Management, and holds a part-time position at ShedEx Fleurieu.
Julie’s journey to success wasn’t always easy. She and her husband Mark faced a difficult time when their daughter Kasey was diagnosed with cystic fibrosis as an infant. Despite this, they remained resilient, raising Kasey and her sister Toni to be strong, independent women who share their parents’ ‘can do anything’ belief. Today, both Kasey and Toni are successful in their respective fields.
Julie’s service extends beyond her professional life. She volunteers for the Zonta Club, an international organisation dedicated to empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy. In 2017, she joined Rotary Victor Harbor, where her tireless commitment to community service was recognised. She was elected President in 2020/21, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, and mobilised fellow Rotarians to fill in when elderly volunteers were unable to serve due to pandemic restrictions, personally assisting with MediRide. You can find her every other Sunday night at Café Crozier, serving two-course meals to those in need.
As she prepares to retire from BVH to focus on her businesses, Julie leaves behind a legacy of dedication and service. Her ability to wear many hats – from businesswoman to volunteer – has been an inspiration to all who know her.
BVH is now looking for a successor for her role as Member Services Executive. This position plays a crucial part in supporting BVH’s members and promoting the growth of local businesses. Interested candidates should visit https://businessvictorharbor.com.au/careers/ to learn more
